BØHN needed a video for Decline that matched the weight of the track. The song builds like a warning, a steep, pulsing crescendo that feels inevitable, and the film had to carry that same sense of something closing in.

The title gave us permission to go somewhere uncomfortable. Decline is not about madness, it is about susceptibility, the fear most of us carry quietly that we are never far from the edge. We built the film around a performance artist, someone whose whole practice is turning feeling into movement. As her world fractures and her mind pulls inward, her body becomes the last language she has left.

Casting a performance artist rather than an actor was the decision the whole film rested on, someone who could take a musical note and find what it looks like in a body. From there we shaped everything, direction, space and camera, around her performance, letting the crescendo of the track drive the unravelling on screen. Handled end to end through to final delivery.
